Black & White
Silver Tabby
A black persian
should have large,
round copper or dark
orange colored eyes.
Jet black hair often
does not develop until
the cat is over 6
months old.  Tabby
markings, and white
specks in the fur often
disappear by this time.
In the persian world, a gray cat is
not gray but "blue". Blue is the most
popular of the colors, there are even
shows devoted totally to this variety.
Blue is usually closest to the breed
standard and so is often used to
improve other color varieties.
Eyes should be large round, and
copper colored.
A true example of this color is pure
red and exhibits no tabby
markings.  This is almost
impossible to breed and the
majority of reds do show some
markings,  particularly on the face.
In the best of show cats the
markings are largely hidden by the
diffusion of the long haired coat.
The red was originally reffered to
as the Orange, but because the
deep red coloring was most
favored this variety's name was
changed to Red.
Solid White
Daily grooming is essential to keep their
coats beautiful.   At first they were
Angora type, but from the
mid-nineteenth century Angoras were
interbred with Persians to produce the
contemporary white Persian.  As a
result the Angora became extremely
rare.

Color is a pure glistening white. Nose
leather and paw pads: pink. Eye color:
deep blue or brilliant copper. Odd-eyed
whites shall have one blue and one
copper eye with equal color depth.
Torties are always female.
It is believed that this color
originated by breeding
imported long haired cats
and short haired non
pedigree tortoiseshells.
The color should be a mix
of rich red, cream and
black patching, a cream or
red blaze running from
nose to forehead is
particularly sought after.
The coat of this persian is a
mix of pastel blue and
cream.  Blue-Creams are
almost always female.  The
color is a cross of two
self-colored cats, the blue
and the cream.  The eyes
should be large, round, and
deep copper or orange in
color.

undersides, chest, and
