Well, I have always loved cats! We always had at least 1-2 running
around when I was growing up. By the time I was married and
starting a family I had 4 cats, 2 were himalayans. After 3 of the 4
passed away I was left with just one - Peanut. He's 13 years old now,
he's not a persian but we think he's just as beautiful! My oldest son,
Vincent wanted a kitten so we adopted Skittle from the local ASPCA
about 4 years ago. Skittle is a long haired cat, but not a persian. So
there we were, happy family of 9 (counting the two cats), when one
night I get a call from my aunt. She tells me that she has a friend
who's friends with a woman who breeds persians & himalayans. The
breeder was very sick and unable to care for the cats anymore. My
aunt asked if I would take a couple of the cats and either keep them
or find homes for them. I decided I would take a couple and find
homes for them. I brought home, Hallie, who was very pregnant,
Licorice, who was just turning a year old, and Cinna. I intended on
finding homes for all of them and keeping one of Hallie's kittens.
Well, two weeks later Hallie delivered 3 beautiful babies! I was in
complete awe of the whole process. The birth, the way she
immediately began cleaning and caring for them. I ended up
spending hours hanging out around the "nest" watching the babies
nurse and crawl around. The way mother and babies all purr when
they nurse. The peace and contentment......aahhh....
I knew I was going to keep breeding. I decided to keep all 3 cats. At
this point, the breeder had passed away. I attempted to retrieve the
CFA papers from the family, but nobody knew where they were and I
didn't feel right intruding on their time of mourning. I made sure
none of these 3 were blood related and began my breeding
program. I kept Leah from Hallie's first litter, then purchased Raine
(who is CFA registered). Then when Cinna had her first litter and
Raven had her accident, I just had to keep her. But I wanted to
breed her, so I had to purchase a boy to breed her with, since my
only stud was her dad. So I purchased Leo (also CFA registered).
That cattery was shutting down, so they were selling their breeders
as well. I ended up purchasing Libby there too! She is also CFA
registered. Ash came to live with us the summer of 2006, then
Gabby, Jazzy & Nutmeg (all 4 CFA registered). I really wanted a solid
white boy and I looked long and hard and finally found Flash (CFA
registered). He joined us in June  2007. We expanded the cattery
and kept a couple of our own kittens and now I think the cattery is
FULL!
Sometimes people ask about CFA papers for the kittens. If Licorice
is their dad or Cinna, Hallie, Leah or Raven is their mom, I won't
have papers for them. Both parents are on the premises and you
are welcome to come and meet them! Most people don't care about
papers unless they are going to breed or show the kittens anyway.
Keeping and caring for all cats that we have is a lot of work!
Constant cleaning, brushing, feeding. But watching these little
miracles grow brings me so much joy!

I am a cat lover first, breeder second.
